This would be the back cover type synopsis:

Simon had enjoyed these past years in the tropical paradise he called home. He’d have been happy staying there. But taking up the mantel of a great leader now dead he finds himself and his two companions back in the city of his youth, opposing the same soldiers he once fought with and working against The Greatest King Ever. All of this to find a gifted girl supposed to have a power beyond any other.

So all he has to do is find her, enter safely through the most impenetrable house ever created, convince her parents, get past the city guard after him, escape through an enormous city surrounded by mountains, take her back to his home, figure out what she can do, avoid getting killed by a mute wraith assassin, raise an army and defend his home from the greatest forces ever assembled in history.

Good thing he never wanted to lead in the first place.
